About

Rebecca Kinsey, PhD, HSPP

Welcome! I'm a licensed counseling psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, stress management, and trauma for adults. My biggest hope for you is to create a meaningful and fulfilling life while learning how to "ride the waves" of life's challenges. I utilize various empirically-supported treatments to help you reach your goals and create a safe place to process your experiences. We’ll work together to figure out where you need support and what direction you want to take your life. That might involve exploring past experiences to better understand how they’ve shaped where you are now. At the same time, I want to be intentional about helping you identify practical steps you can take now to move toward the future you want. My philosophy is that you don't end therapy when you are "healed" because you will learn and grow throughout life. Rather, you are ready to end therapy when you feel better able to handle tough moments and can use what you’ve learned to face life’s ups and downs with more confidence. Charlie, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, will join us for in-person counseling sessions. She has been coming to therapy with me since 2021. She is well-trained and eager for affection. Please take this into consideration when deciding if I am the right fit for you, especially if you are allergic or unable to be around dogs. When deciding if I am a good fit for you, I think it is also helpful to know that I generally do not work with individuals presenting with perinatal or postnatal mental health concerns, parenting issues, eating disorders or disordered eating, psychosis, and substance use disorders or addiction. I am in-network with Anthem BCBS and Optum/United/UMR. I strongly recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm I am in-network by providing my full name and NPI # (1588294573). You can provide the CPT codes listed on my website under "fees" to get additional clarification regarding your co-pay/co-insurance and how your deductible impacts your payment responsibility. I also recommend asking your insurance if they have session limits per year or require pre-authorization for any services. Please note that fees listed are prior to any insurance adjustments so your cost will likely be lower if services are in-network. Unfortunately, each insurance plan is different so you will need to call your insurance company to determine mental health care coverage. If I am out of network (OON) with your insurance plan, you would be considered "self-pay" and pay the rates provided on my website after completing the No Surprises Act paperwork. I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for OON benefits. You would want to contact your insurance company to determine if you are eligible for OON benefits. I am a part of the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission meaning I can provide telehealth psychotherapy to those living in 42 of the PsyPact effective states. http://www.verifypsypact.org/
